Mark Maille Obituary

Mark Alan Maille, age 61 died February 3, 2018 after a short bout with cancer while surrounded by family. Mark was born December 6, 1956, in Cleveland, Ohio to Charles an Lucille(Hoover) Maille. He attended St. Joe’s and St. John’s high school and graduated from the class of 1975. Where he went on work for the railroad before becoming an electrician for Local IBEW #673 where he retired after 41 years.

Mark had many hobbies. He loved gardening of all types. He especially loved giving his creations away whether it be vegetables from the garden or jars of salsa and peppers. He also loved to fish, whether it be out of his pond, at the river, in the middle of Lake Erie or one of the many fishing trips his took with friends or family. Mark was an avid bird watcher. He also loved to cook and grill. He also had a special love and passion for music. He could name almost anything classic rock and he always thought he could play the harmonica. He was also a collector of many, including coins, trading cards, old games, or just about anything old. He loved the Cleveland Browns, The Cavs, the Cleveland Indians and the Ohio state Buckeyes. He had one of the biggest hearts anyone could ever have been lucky enough to know.

Mark will live on in the hearts and memories of his daughter Brandy Maille Thigpen; his long-term girlfriend, Cyndi Durkin and her daughter Kelsey Durkin; his grandchildren Hailey, Alana, and DaMahn; his siblings Don Maille (Geri), Tom Maille (Tracey), and Nancy Schlieper (George); and many nephews, uncles, aunts, cousins; and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents Charles Maille and Lucille Maille, his son Alan Maille, Chris Thigpen and his brother Charles Maille.

Memorial service will be on Thursday Feb. 8 at 7 P.M. in Guerriero Funeral Home 1550 West 19th St. in Ashtabula. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 P.M. , Memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of the Western Reserve. Condolences can be made at guerrierofuneralhome.com
