Lucille D. (Buccino) Gustafson, 70, of Ashtabula passed away peacefully Sunday morning.
Born on December 4, 1946 in Belleville, NJ, she eventually moved to Ashtabula after meeting
Rodger, the man of her dreams, who she’d be married to for the next 50 years. She was a wonderful stay-at-home-mom for many years to her three kids, always active in their schools and activities. She retired from Ashtabula County Medical Center after 19 years and worked
part-time with Dr. Lambros shortly after. In her spare time, she enjoyed volunteering at the
church and the Arts Center, painting, playing Bunco and board games, attending the theater, traveling, casinos, animals, feeding the birds and the wildlife in the backyard, and attending the activities of her grandkids. She was also known for her amazing Italian wedding soup, pizzelles, meatballs, and going overboard with holiday decorations.
Survivors include her husband, Rodger; son, Alan Gustafson of Ashtabula; daughters, Karen
(Mark) Mehollin of Willoughby and Amy Gustafson of Ashtabula; brother, Anthony (Dawn) of
Nutley, NJ; grandchildren, Dane, Madalyn, and Mason; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Angelo and Marie (Cocozza) Buccino.
There will be a viewing at St. Joseph Church on Lake Avenue from 5:00-6:00pm on Thursday,November 16, with a service following at 6:00. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery on Friday,
November 17, at 10:00am followed by a brunch at her home for family and close friends.
