Joseph L. Rose

February 29, 1928 ~ June 26, 2017 (age 89) 89 Years Old

Joseph L. Rose (89) of Ashtabula died on June 26m 2017 at the Hospice Unit of the Ashtabula County Medical Center.

Born Feb. 29, 2017 in Ashtabula, he was the son of Michael and Mary (Bartone) Rose.

Joe graduated from Ashtabula High School class of 1947 and was a veteran of the United States Army. He retired as a train master for Conrail after 30 years of service. Mr. Rose was a long time serving Ashtabula City Council person representing Ward One. He was a member of Our Lady of Peace Parish (Mt. Carmel), American Legion, Ashtabula Elks, Knights of Columbus 360, and Sir Leo J. Kane Assembly of the Knights of Columbus.

     His biggest enjoyments came for spending time with his family, he also enjoyed golfing, baking and cooking.

Survivors include his wife Wanda G. Rose of Ashtabula, sons Jim (Maureen) Rose of Colorado, Thomas (Ann) Rose of Illinois, daughters Cindy (Steve) Luther of Fla. , Mary Jo ( Brad) Doyle of Ashtabula , grandchildren Jessica , Mathew , Madison, Maura , Jason , Jackie , Angela , Beth , T.J. , Joey, Emily ,  daughter Robin Dioneff ,  grandchildren Felecia and Marissa , sister Margaret Mello and brother Michael Rose , and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 1st wife of 47 years Joanne Rose, brother Edward Ruscitti, Ralph Rose, sisters Dorothy Hayes, Jennie Briggs, Eleanor Page and Theresa Rose.

Funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday July 1 at noon in Our Lady of Peace parish with Father Phillip Miller officiating. Entombment will take place in Greenlawn Memory Gardens, Military Honors will be provided by American Legion Post 103. Visitation will be on Friday Evening from 6 to 8 P.M. at Guerriero Funeral Home 1550 West 19th St. in Ashtabula. guerrierofuneralhome.com for condolences.
