Welcome to the memorial page for

Joseph Leland Cusano

September 24, 1952 ~ August 20, 2017 (age 64) 64 Years Old

Joseph Leland Cusano I passed away unexpectedly at his home on Sunday August 20, 2017. He was born in Ashtabula, Ohio on September 24th, 1952 to James and Florence (Lane) Cusano.

Joseph was a beautiful man full of strong morals and respect. He was selfless and thrived when he was able to help others. His family was his greatest treasure; from his parents and siblings to the family he created with Pamela. He loved being a father, and even more, being a grandfather. He took pride in all he did. From his pristine lawn to his tinkering in the garage, everything he touched was done precisely. He was the fixer of all things. Whether he knew what he was doing or not; he always managed to make it work again.

In his younger years he enjoyed hunting on his parents farm with his brothers and nephews. From the stories he told, there were more jokes being told and delicious snacks being shared, than hunting being done. Those were some of his fondest memories.

He loved car rides in the Fall that led him on adventures, flea markets for new treasures, and spending time working on his vegetable garden. He enjoyed fishing with his family and Sunday's at the fair watching truck and tractor pulls.

He was an avid car enthusiast with a love for Chevrolet's, specifically the Bel-Air and the Nova.

Above all things, he was a jokster. He couldn't call a single person by their given name. Everyone had a nickname, whether it was a playful Dogface or poodle, or his special Joe-Bear, Zookie-Baby, Boogs, Porky, or Pudge. He showed his love with playful banter. He loved to tell the kids silly stories to entertain himself when they believed him.

Joseph was employed at MFG for 23 years as a security guard. He was a hard worker who was devoted to his family and their needs. He touched the lives of many and the loss of him will have a heart wrenching impact on each of us.

Joseph is survived by his former wife, Pamela McNally, daughter Emily (Mike) Roberts, daughter Amanda Cusano-Jones, son Joseph (Jessica Francis) Cusano II, daughter Alexandra (Chuck) Fultz, borrowed son Daniel Cusano, former son in law Terrence Jones, grandchildren Mikey and Spencer Roberts, Olivia Jones, Makena Roberts, Brock Fultz, Giavana Jones, Chevelle and Cash Fultz. Brothers, James (the late Judy) Cusano,  Bill (the late Rhonda) Cusano, Roy (Wanda) Cusano, Rich (Kathy) Cusano, Charlie (Gail) Cusano. Sisters, Lucy (the late Tony) Belmonte, Joanna (the late Joe) Rager, Beverly (Ray) Stokes, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents James and Florence, brothers Larry and (Anna) Cusano and John (Sandy) Cusano sisters Louise (Lee) Wilson and Mary (Knute) Svendson.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the family care of Alexandra Fultz
